If you look at the image and listen to the sound, they clash. The bowl is made of ceramic and the recording is of a wine glass and a metallic ball spinning in it. I didn’t choose to represent what was in the image but rather felt inspired by it and edited together some sounds I recorded a while back.
The process
Well, not much at all! Just good old editing. I put my trusted MKH418s mic which records in mid-side stereo inside a wine glass with water (don’t worry, the mic is safe) and spun a metallic ball in it.
I also recorded the wine glass resonating (spinning my finger around the rim) and poured it out which gives that pitching down sound at the end of the recording.
So basically the whole sound is nothing more then these two sounds edited together. No processing at all.
