Today is special! I’m using an image (from my library) inspired by a sound.

Yesterday was Guy Fawkes Day. I’m fortunate enough to live right on a huge grass field. Last night, there was a hoard of drunk people on this grass field with big firework budgets. An audio dream! Before I could run out and record some in-action sounds I had to charge the batteries of my FR-2 Field recorder which thanks to my super battery charger from Sony it charges in 15 minutes flat. So while waiting for it to charge, I attached my mic onto a tripod and stuck it far out of the window to record. That is the sound you hear.

I recorded over 1 hour of sounds from the field itself, but my favorite was recorded even before getting out there. Why you ask? Well, thank you for asking. My building is part of a huge line of buildings all facing the field where the fireworks were. Creating a fantastic reflection. A crisp slap back which sounds as clear as, or even more so than the real thing. All the sounds you hear on the right are the reflections, and everything you hear on the left and centre is the original. I’m just in love with these reflections! If you have headphones, I recommend using them to listen.
