For the image, I used a still from a movie I shot and ran it through a Jitter object from Max/MSP/Jitter called [jit.ameba] which gives it the effect you see above.
The sound was recorded using a telephone pickup coil that I just bought from Maplin. What it does is record electric signals (rather then sound waves). The sound you hear is of me clicking the mouse, turning the wheel, and leaving it idle. I also added an effect using Max/MSP which I explain below.
the process

After recording the mouse I built a Max/MSP patch to create the sweep you hear. It’s nothing fancy or complicated but it adds to the original sound which was bit bland and lacked movement.
To create the effect I used the [reson~] object which is a resonant bandpass filter. The original sound goes in and the resonant bandpass filter ramps from 300 Hz to 5000 Hz in 7 seconds.
I find the beginning of the sound to be somewhat similar to the didgeridoo, and could be something to remember for the future.
